My Approach

I believe our health and fulfillment in this lifetime is intertwined with embodying our authentic selves.

Oftentimes, generational trauma, personal trauma, cultural messaging, and discrimination of multiple types (sexism, racism, etc.) can obstruct the expression of our true selves.

My work is to help you unpack these layers to present your most authentic self to yourself and to the world. This work takes time, but the benefit is feeling more at home in your body and on this planet.

You might be thinking that all sounds very lofty and inspirational, but really you just want your back to feel better, your sinuses to clear, or your hot flashes to stop. This work can definitely address those concerns as well!

Chinese Medicine is a complete medical system.

As such, it can treat just about anything. I routinely help people with a variety of issues, including but not limited to:

  • stress/mental health concerns

  • women's health concerns (menstrual issues, fertility, menopause)

  • digestive/elimination issues

  • autoimmune conditions

  • pain of all kinds

Come, tell me a story. Tell me your story.
I am here to meet you where you’re at.

As Above, So Below

The early practitioners of Chinese Medicine were the natural scientists of their time. They were keen observers and recorders of the natural world. They took this information and applied it to the human experience. They believed the human body functioned as a microcosm of the greater world.

  • The Earth has soil, we have flesh.

  • The Earth has rivers of water, we have vessels full of blood.

  • The Earth has trees and plants. We have sinews and ligaments.

  • The Earth has a fiery core that shapes her. We have the soul-spark of emotion and intelligence that shapes our lives.

  • The Earth has minerals and precious metals, just as we have the preciousness of breath and inspiration.

When these 5 Elements (五行  - Wu Xing) are in harmony, life flows effortlessly and seamlessly.

When imbalance occurs, one or more elements become more apparent. Perhaps too much rain falls and the river floods, or fire flares and wildfires erupt. In humans, this may look like edema or inflammation. The Earth, left to her own devices, does not restore the land to its previous state. She integrates the changes into a transformed landscape.

As a healer, I strive to help you achieve this same type of balance. When imbalances occur, as they always do, my goal is to catalyze your body’s innate ability to heal, to transform this imbalance into something new, not restore you to the way you were.  As Heraclitus, ancient Greek philosopher, said: “No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it’s not the same river and he’s not the same man.”

How do we stimulate your healing capacities? By accessing and moving your living energy (Qi). There are many tools at our disposal.  The right one is the one that feels best to your body and your intuition.
